The Marine Hotel is a family friendly establishment lying close to the harbour in the interesting fishing village of Mallaig, previously the busiest herring port in the British Isles. The hotel is convenient for both rail and sea terminals, with the Isle of Skye ferry only yards away, and daily cruises available in the summer on local boats. Other islands that can be reached by a ferry from Mallaig are Uist, Eigg, Muck, Rum and Canna.
The village has good bars with live music most week ends, variety restaurants and cafes, gift shops and we also have tour groups who stay in Mallaig as a base so you can visit the Islands and the Peninsula’s either by boat or walking, a car is not needed but an advantage. There is also the Marine Bar which is enjoyed by the locals and is a place where many a tall tale can be heard.
The Marine Bar is open 11.00am till 12.00am Mon-Wed, 11.00am till 1.00am Thu-Sat and 12.00pm till 12.00am Sun. The Marine Restaurant is open from 12.00pm till 3.00pm and 6.00pm till 9.00pm 7 days a week.
You can go on trips to Knoydart by boat and enjoy walking along the beaches of Morar , camusdarroch and loch Mora.
