The village of Mallaig has good bars with live music most week ends, a variety restaurants and cafes, gift shops and we have tour groups who stay in Mallaig as a base so you can visit the Islands and the Peninsula’s either by boat or walking, a car is not needed but an advantage.

The Arisaig Highland Games
The Arisaig Highland Games will take place on Wednesday 28th July 2010, at Traigh Farm, some 3 miles west of Arisaig village.
The event begins at 10:30am with a ceremonial parade through the village led by the Lochaber Schools Pipe Band. The focus then switches to Traigh, with the Games officially opened by the Chief of Clanranald. The Games feature a full list of traditional events including solo piping, throwing the hammer, tossing the caber, highland dancing, and a range of track and field events including children’s races.
Around the arena there will be a variety of side shows, exhibition tents, trade stalls and refreshment stands. The field gates open at at 10 am, with the Games commencing at 12 noon. Entrance fees are: £6.00. Children and concessions £3.00
Cars: £2.00.
To round it all off, come and dance the night away in the Astley Hall where the Games dance will commence at 10 p.m.
Mallaig and Morar Highland Games – Sunday 1st August 2010
The Mallaig and Morar Highland Games are a small but very popular and friendly games. The Games always attract a wonderful mixture of local people and people from all over the world including Canada, Australia, America, as well as across the U.K. and Europe. Some come to compete, others to enjoy the events, but all enjoy the stunning scenery which is the selling point of the most beautiful part of Scotland. In the last few years, the games have been held at Traigh farm, Arisaig, but in 2005 the games returned to their original venue at Morar.
